This brought the idea forward and set the groundwork for the design of an Ecosystem Venue. Manatee Bay Restaurant which is located inside a National Park called Santuario de Mamiferos Marinos (manatees). The expansive roof is held up by tree columns, and tejida with cana. The flooring is done with piedra chata, collected from the mountains around the area. The second floor has a balcony to enjoy the stunning ocean A view of crystal blue water and a private, sandy beach where Christopher Columbus landed for the first time. "La Isabela" is the entrance of his journey on the Dominican Republic island. Manatee Bay Restaurant, has been registered since 2008 with the Tourism Cluster of Puerto Plata, The Natural Resource Department, and The National Secretary of Tourism. Holding all limited permits, Manatee Bay Restaurant has the best Caribbean and International cuisine.
